How PayPal payments work
When you book a Cameo video using PayPal, a payment hold is placed on your PayPal account at the time of booking. The payment is only captured when the talent delivers the completed video.
If the order expires or is declined, the hold is released automatically. This can take 5–7 business days to clear in your PayPal account.
If you cancel the order, the hold is released within 5–7 business days.
Common PayPal issues
I see a charge but didn't receive a confirmation email. Check your PayPal account to confirm whether the payment was captured or is still a hold. If captured, check your spam folder for the Cameo confirmation email, or visit cameo.com/orders to find your order.
I was charged twice. This may be a duplicate hold rather than two charges. Log in to PayPal and check your transaction history. If you see two separate captured payments, contact our support team with your Order ID and PayPal transaction details.
PayPal shows a pending transaction. This is normal — it's a hold that will either be captured (when the video is delivered) or released (if the order expires, is declined, or cancelled).
My refund isn't showing in PayPal. Refunds can take 5–7 business days to appear. If it's been longer, contact PayPal support with the transaction ID, or reach out to our team with your Order ID.
